We are thrilled to have 7 new Masters students join our lab this fall! We extend a warm (virtual) welcome to all of you. Here’s a little more about them:

Marina Lemee

Working as tinkering and making manager at Olioli children’s museum in Dubai, UAE, Marina is a scientist at heart with a passion for the arts. She is in charge of developing programs emphasizing learning through play. She believes in a tinkering, hands-on approach to learning science, and in the process, understanding the world around us. Enrolling in the Computing in Education program at TC last year has transcended her expectations! As crazy as it sounds, the current COVID-19 situation has brought on many opportunities for her, just like joining this Snow Day Learning Lab!

Yue Yang

A Masters student in Instructional Technology and Media Program, Yue is interested in digital media design and exploring new educational tools. In her spare time, she loves binge-watching TV and taking photos.

Uttarika Shetty

Uttarika worked for five years as a consultant and marketer before she took the plunge and started teaching at a non-profit. Since then, there has been no looking back! She is passionate about changing the world through education and specifically interested in how makerspaces can become a core part of schools. If she isn’t teaching or reading, we might find her trekking or scuba-diving or binge-watching a show on Netflix.

Hongjin Du

Currently a Masters student in the Instructional Technology and Media program, Hongjin is especially interested in the design of group collaborative learning experiences and innovative, technology-based classroom interventions. She strives to be a pracademic, which, in her opinion, means developing synergy among multiple identities as a learning scientist, an instructional designer, and a teacher of practice.

David Zikovitz

David spent many years teaching internationally in Tokyo, Japan and Milan, Italy, where he was Technology Coordinator at a constructivist-focused school. Then, he became the Digital Learning and Design Coach at the American School of Milan, which put him in charge of the school’s makerspace, and ignited his interest in Constructionism. He is passionate about play and gaming as learning experiences, and he is excited to be involved in the new ideas and research at the Snow Day Learning Lab!

Grace J. Choi

Grace is an artist and writer based in Queens, New York. She currently works at Teachers College, Columbia University, holds a BFA from New York University and previously worked at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Her research interests include social justice initiatives, maker spaces and multi-dimensional learning in the arts.

Polly Meesuwandecha

Polly is a passionate English educator, and aspires to bring equity to English-as-a-second language (ESL) learners across Thailand, her home country, and beyond. Her main goal is to utilize instructional design and technology to help learners gain access to quality English education.
